POTATOES: We expect to see prices increase on cartons. The suprise is why consumers haven’t gone up? All the shippers we talked to are sort on consumers and they will be going up as well. We expect to see a constant increase in cartons over the next several weeks but not a runaway. New crop appears to be about on a normal time table so late July for Washington and mid-August for Idaho. If the weather helps we may see both areas a bit earlier.
ONIONS: All the early to mid-summer onion area are producing. Market is steady and we don’t see any reason for any hard upward pushes. Unless weather creates a situtation we expect the market to remain about steady.
